I got mine approved. It's not hard people. I just haven't faxed the licence
back to japan yet.

Hi. A few friends and I do electronic music. We're mostly
ambient trance, and we're getting into electronic distribution
and are exploring various formats. MP3 is simply insuffient
for our material since we either end up losing the specific
character of the sound and the subtle nuances, or we have to
crank up the bitrate on the MP3 coder to the point where we'd
be better off just distributing raw PCM data. Our previous use
of ATRAC has been quite satisfying, and we are quite certain
that using the ATRAC3 coder will meet our requirements. Our
thanks in advance for including us in your beta program.

Several things.
1) Act like the BOFH. You're right. You're always right. Unless
you're wrong because you want to be. Don't give them any choice.
2) RTFM! They said that they were limiting the beta to people
in the music industry. That means no experimenters or radio
shack employees. If you work at radio shack, you'd just pull
a rio and an r55 from under the counter and do a comparison
that way. This needs more finesse. Be a musician. Be a tech.
Be an electronic music publisher.... whatever.
3) It works better if you have a company/band name.
