I just got the Sony MDS-JB930 (UK tweaked) the other day, sounds great and
some of the extra features are even worth having, even if I preferred the
user interface on my MDS-JE510.
Anyhow...
If I'm trying to split a track, all is OK while going backwards to find the
split point, but when I move the split point forward it goes mad!
So to start with I hear the rehersal, then move the split point earlier -
all fine, but when I try to move the split point forward a bit the rehersal
seems to get lost, it plays part of the minidisc that has previously been
erased (and TOC updated), then plays a bit from the start of the minidisc
and then on subsequent rehersals you hear nothing, but you can hear the deck
moving the head about.
At this point there is no way to continue with the split, so I must press NO
until out of the edit and start again.
I cant imagine it's a fault with only my deck, or disk, but a software bug.
Anyone else seen this problem?
Other comments.
The eject mechanism doesn't feel as good quality as on my previous deck, one
of the feet is slightly short (done up too tight?) and so the whole deck
rocks slightly, I also noticed a small dent in the left hand edge of the
front facia.
What's happened to quality control? This is certainly not what I expect from
Sony!
BTW the box was definately not opened before I got it.
Anyone else had any problems like this?
Thanks,
Mozza
