Hi guys,

Just to re-assure the guy who wondered a couple of nights ago if I
was still alive, yep I am, and so is my PC (which given my recent
overclocking trials is perhaps surprising). The AMD K6-3/400 chip
in my machine is running happily at 450 but I did try earlier today to
up the multiplier to 5x to run it at 500MHz and the machine failed to
boot.

Still a k6-3/450 is faster than any Celeron, and probably about as
fast as a P3/500 if not faster. At least I believe a given speed K6-3
outperforms the same speed P3.

I don't know where the P3 Xeon comes into this, or the fantastic AMD
Athlon but for now they are both "money no object" machines. Is the
Xeon a server intended chip with it's large cache?

Cheers,
