I just wanted to share a positive service experience with Kenwood Corp. Japan. Last year, I had a friend purchase a Kenwood MiniDisc recorder (K7R) while on a trip to Japan. This fall, it started to skip during playback. I feared the worst. Since the unit was purchased in Japan, I had to send it back to Tokyo for service. Fortunately, it was still under warranty. I sent an e-mail to Kenwood Japan and received a prompt reply (in English). I sent the whole thing to Japan, including a copy of the original sales receipt. On 12/24, I received an apologetic e-mail when the unit arrived, saying that because of the holidays and New Year, they would be unable to send the unit back until after January 5th. On 12/29 I received the unit back, functioning perfectly. Thanks Kenwood for great customer service.
