There are a few projects which suggest hooking to pins on the card itself.
You could however just build the TTL to Optical converter (1 resistor and an
LED if you use the super-cheap method) and wire a 3.5mm mono miniplug to
it - the digital output connector is SPDIF at TTL voltage, the same as the
connector on the back of a CD-ROM drive.
