Hi PrinceGaz,
first of all, let me congratulate you with another almost typical 'PrinceGaz'
question! Why almost, well, it is related to hearing things, which is related to
perceptual hearing, which is related to ATRAC!
Second, I think we're sailing in the 'off-topic' waters, so I should keep my
fingers from the keyboard..... But, on the other hand, it is about how we
perceive sound. Thus
Thirth, (if you came this far!), I would like to give my opinion -which is
off-course completely objective-, on this subject.
Theory number 1
Compare your two ears with your two eyes. If you close one eye, you can only see
2D, But if you open both eyes you'll see 3D. (Assuming, you can see with both
eyes!)
So I think it's the same with your ears....
Theory number 2
Somewhere I've got the strange feeling that phase-shifting and the amplitude has
something to do with it....
Theory number 3
Ever been in a sound-proof room? It's much more difficult to locate a sound in
it.... Maybee it has something to do with 'non-sound-proof' walls?
Cheers,
Ralph -> Sorry for the off-topic nes...
