Excuse my ignorance, Andy ... but what are variable bit-rate MP3's?  Do =
any of the common encoders use vbr?  ...and can they be decoded by the =
common players, e.g. Winamp etc?

Btw, did you come across any blind listening test results comparing CD, =
MD, and various levels of MP3 in your research?
