Assuming you don't want a digital input then the best cards around are based
on the Aureal chipset. There's the Xitel Storm Platinum and the Videologic
Sonic Vortex 2 which are both in reality the same card just marketed by
different companies. It has a great sound and an optical output just perfect
for MD. The only reason I went for an SBLive! Platinum compared to this card
was that I wanted a really good MIDI system too and the Aureal cards don't
have a very good MIDI sound system. For transferring things from PC to MD
though either of those two cards will be perfect. You should be able to get
one of them from virtually any computer store.
