I own a Sony R5-ST (the MD with the docking statio) and I have a couple of
battery questions. I use the unit for live recordings and sometimes I am
granted board feeds. If I am aware in advance, I try to bring the docking
station but due to its very bulky foreign power supply and US adapter that
weighs more than the whole station, it is not always possible to carry. I
was wondering what type of portable power supply could power the station. I
know that it takes 9v at 1.2a at AC input 100v 50/60Hz 25 Va according to
the transformer. I am hoping to find or build a flat battery pack no larger
than the MD station that would attach to the base.

Also does anyone know of an inexpensive source for Sony LIP8 Li-Ion and NiMH
BP-DM20 batteries?

And finally, I have noticed the prevalence of inexpensive Wintel sound cards
with basic coax or optical I/O, do any exist for the Mac platform? And does
anyone know when the Mac OS will support USB audio input ie- the DAT ports
and Roland UA-30?

Thanks in advance....
