Hi,
I've had my new car with the stock tape deck for more than 6 months and I
can't stand using my R50 with the tape adapter. Not only is it clumsy, the
sound is terrible! I think the tape adapter levels is set too high for the
tape head, sounds like analog clipping!

Anyways, I'm deciding to go with a in-car MD/CD solution. I've looked at
the few CD/MD combo units like the JVC MX3000, or the Panasonic and Alpine
units, and while they are ideal for my situation (flexibility, I don't
really need a changer), for the cost, I can get either a MD head with a CD
changer or a CD head with a MD changer.

I'm more inclined to go with a MD head with a CD changer given the fact
that CDs are so readily available here in Canada as opposed to MDs.
However, are there any CD changers that don't have that annoying 10sec disc
change delay ? I would think that since most of these CD changers have
shock memory, that they could change to the next CD while the buffer is
being played out like the MD changers ? If so, please let me know.
If such a thing doesn't exist, I'm more tempted to go with a CD head with a
MD changer.

Anyone know whose ATRAC the non-Sony units use ? Also, which CD heads are
able to play CDRs properly ?

thx,
Wayne

p.s. Are the Sanyo MDR-4s all gone ? What are the opinions of people who
purchased this ?
