Is this the case, though? (speculating) wouldn't it be set to penultimate,
in the same way as prerec CDs - 'cos you can normally make one generation of
digital copy from them, using domestic equipment.

I'm not sure I buy why prerec MDs should be different (from a SCMS
perspective) from prerec CDs.
