Hmm, one thing is missing here:
a $150 burner is PC bassed.... And burning a CD is a lot more hassle than
recording
a CD to MD.

Unfortunatly the journalists write a lot of bullshit.... And the musician. Well
they use either MD or DAT.

It sounds to me that there are many 'computer-geeks' on this list. You all seem
to have a PC bassed burner (I've got one, but I don't use it to burn Audio-CDs,
MD
is a lot easier!) and most of you are into MP3.
MP3 has taken off in the PC world. But it's NOT and I repeat again, it's NOT a
mass-market product. However, some concepts (like the MemoryStick from Sony) are
appearing that de-couple the PC from MP3 (or other flash-memory-based music
media).

The main problem with MD is it's history. ATRAC 1 sounded good from a technology
point of view. It sounded horible from an audiophile point of view... MD still I
still here people saying that MD sounds bad. However when they here my 7900,
702 or S38, they first think it's a CD...

We've seen standalone audio CD-R(W) burners being introduced and since it was
another Philips invention it totaly went into the wrong direction. (Philips
should have come out with them 5 years earlier!).
MD however is still in plain development. New units are being introduced each
month so....

Cheers,
Ralph
