Hi,
First off, is there any reason why the search still only indexes messages
starting from Jan 1, 2000 (and not all the messages in the archive) ?
Second, I finally powered up the MDX7900 head unit. Some gripes:
1) Does not display japanese labels, comes up with garbage!!!
2) Even when autoscroll is turned on, the labels only scroll once and not
continuously
3) wired remote controls less than my R50 remote! (I wanted to change the
display mode with the remote, which isn't possible)
4) As Eric Woudenberg has mentioned, the user interface blows chunks.
Some things that I thought were going to be problems turned out to be ok.
Such as the combined feature of seek and tuning with one lever. One push of
the lever seeks to the next radio stn. Hold down the lever and the unit
beeps a second time to let you know that you are now in tuning mode. I
could easily reach the radio stn I wanted without any difficulties.
Track changes/disc reads seem much faster than my R50 (makes sense since the
HU doesn't need to conserve power).
#1 and #2 are very annoying. I can put up with #3 and #4.
My question:
Does anyone know if the other MD head units have the same problems or
whether they don't ?
i.e. MDX6500, MDX-C800rec, MDX8500, mdx8900 ? If they don't, then I might
consider selling my unit and get another.
