My friend Maria, in Oz sent me this Email. I can't seem to find any
info on this unit. Is it a new model? maybe just availble in Oz?

g'day Jim, have just had another look at the manual and machine to
double
check, yes, SHARP MD-SR70W(S), hope you don't mind me sending you an
attachment, actually, the image makes it look inacurately thick. I've
already deleted the 1 or 2 websites that I found it on, and it was hard
to find information on it, think it's a faily new release.
This one comes with a rechargeable Ni-MH battery, or uses 1 AA. My
memory
says that it records for 5 hours, plays for 7 on the battery, so far,
have
done all the work with mains power.
There's no end search, to record, you play/ff the last track, press
record,
adjust the recording level, enter the syncho recording level, and when
the
unit hears sound it records, REAL NEAT!
Not happy with current mic (it goes hmmmmmmmmmm), am playing around with
recording
levels and volume, but I still get some hmmm. Am looking forward to
trying out
your homemade mic design.
