By far the best earbuds are the Etymotics ER-4S and ER-4P (the former
really needs a separate headphone amp to sound good, the latter can be
driven from a portable).
After that, the general consensus is the Sony 888s. After that are
probably the Sennheiser MX-500s and 400s, along with the Sony EX-70s (the
Sennheisers allegedly have better sound, but the Sony EX-70s block more
external noise).
