Daryl,

I managed to get an Audiotron at the local Best Buy. I was able to get
the very last one.
I don't know anything about HPNA, I've never used it. I was thinking
about going with HPNA also. Panasonic has a broadband router that can
act as a very fast HPNA->Ethernet bridge for $100 which is a good price
for it since Netgear's HPNA to Ethernet bridge costs the same but
doesn't have any routing features. However, kind of disappointing is
that the Audiotron can't play uncompressed 16-bit 44.1kHz audio over
HPNA, it's Ethernet only for that feature. I wonder why? On the
practicallynetworked.com site the HPNA throughput is very close to
10BaseT.

Anyway, I did plug the Audiotron into my SMC Wireless broadband router
just to try it out. It worked perfectly the first time with no
configurating necessary. It automatically found my computers and
cataloged the MP3's. Pretty slick. However, I don't really feel like
routing Ethernet cable either.

I can't wait to get it set up in the living room though. The whole
reason I bought it was so I could use the big MD deck to record my MP3's
as titling and recording on it is much simpler than on a portable (IMO).
