I'm not saying you're wrong to check this, but what is the logic behind why
the date/time would impact the ability of the PXE firmware to send out a
DHCP request? I could see the firmware date/time affecting something like
[for example] policy retrieval, once the client boots up to WinPE. If the
network guys aren't even seeing DHCP request packets coming from the problem
system though, I wouldn't expect the date/time to have much to do with this.
John:
1) Have you tried a factory reset option in the firmware, if available?
2) Have you tried a different client, *without* updating the firmware, and
then *after* updating the firmware?
Cheers,
Trevor Sullivan

I may be dumb but I'm not that dumb! Yes, when I PXE boot the machine it
sits waiting for an IP for a while then it says no DHCP offer received.

Did you enable PXE in BIOS?

We have a bunch of new Dell 7010 desktops. They will not PXE boot, don't get
an IP address at all. I can plug a Dell GX620 into the same port and it does
PXE. I've updated to the latest BIOS on the 7010. Is anyone else having this
problem? The network guy watched the traffic and he doesn't even see the
machines send a DHCP request.
