Related to the issue I mentioned below, when running bitsadmin /info /job
{JobID} /verbose during the install application steps in the TS, which hangs
and the application is never even downloaded to CCMCACHE, we see the "Unknown
working..." message shown below. Not sure if it is relevant, but notice how
the highlighted portion of the URL has a . in it. If I paste this URL in my
browser it returns an invalid character error as shown in the screen shot. If I
try the same URL but remove the . from it, I get a Forbidden: Access Denied,
which is kind of what I would expect.

CCM\CIDownloader\Staging\{FF15FB44-2334-4F7F-BAC8-AA74DF188041}_2.zipNote: This issue only occurs if the TS is started from the software center and the WIM set in the TS is x64. If you start it via PXE, all 19 applications download and install fine. Further, if you start the TS from the software center and an x86 WIM is what is set in the TS, all 19 applications install fine. I want to emphasize that the issue is not install related - the app's data never comes down so an install is never able to be attempted. [cid:[email protected]] From: Townsend, Robbie Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2013 7:06 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Application install via TS build and capture does nothing We are seeing similar behavior but only when using an x64 WIM in the TS. If we set an x86 WIM all apps install fine. This is on 2012 R2 Beta, but we had never tried x64 OS prior to R2, so I can't say if this is new behavior. What I am seeing the SMSTS log is an evaluation failure, which seems to imply a pre-req/dependency is not being met, but none of the applications have any of that set. I'm sure it is likely something simple I am missing but have yet to figure it out. We are finally standing up a new CM12 SP1 U3 environment to replace our well-aged CM07 environment. Rather than migrating packages etc. over we are starting off fresh and created all of the former packages just as Applications where we could. Deploying applications to machines works fine but when I try and add them to be installed via a TS none of the ones I have selected install. Packages also work fine via the TS. I've checked the SMSTS.LOG but there seems to be no errors there, though I will admit I may not know what I should be looking for. I've also tried installing KB2522623 and rebooting before the Application install steps with no change. Here is part of the SMSTS.log where one of the application groups is supposed to be installing. <![LOG[ Parsing step node: Microsoft Applications]LOG]!><time="21:39:38.950+240" date="10-16-2013"
