This is my first attempt at deploying Windows 8.1. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2014 3:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MDT-OSD] RE: Task sequence not continuing after Windows 8.1 image deployment
Is this the first attempt at getting 8.1 working, or was it working and it broke? I used the WSIM from the task sequence to edit the unattend.xml. I am not doing a lot of customizations. Updating homepage, registered user, time zone and adding a First Logon Command. My Windows 8 image and task sequence work perfectly making these same changes but 8.1 does not. My image is created on a Hyper-V VM and I am using a sysprep and capture TS to create the WIM. I'd create a new client TS, copy over your custom steps, and try it. If that works, then go in and add one unattend edit at a time, until you find that they all work, or the one that breaks it. Don't manually edit the xml file, use the tool. It seems that the administrator user account is getting disabled during the image deployment. It looks like the unattend.xml is not running. The Windows image installs correctly and after a reboot the application install portion of the task sequence does not continue. I looked at the logs on the system but do not see anything as to why the TS is not continuing. Did anyone run into this issue before or have any insight as to why this is occurring?
