Please ignore the Components node - permanently.  It will never recognize the 
ADK for Windows 8.1.

IIRC,



You need to have Windows 8.1 ADK installed, then install MDT 2013. After that 
you can remove the ADK and install the one from Update.



I haven't switched to the ADK from Update yet, why do you feel the need?

I Installed ADK for Windows 8.1 Update outside of and prior to installing  MDT 
2013 and am having problems getting MDT to recognize under Components. Am I 
missing something?
