You have two options:

· Assigned Access, a feature of Windows 8.1 that allows you to configure
a user to run a specific app and nothing but that app. You can use this with
one of the “kiosk” browsers available in the Windows Store.

· For more advanced scenarios, you can use Windows Embedded 8.1
Industry. This provides more capabilities over and above what is possible
using just Assigned Access.

Subject: Re: [MDT-OSD] Windows 8.1 - Block Access to Start Screen

Uh Google-fu shows that if you replace Windows Explorer with another Shell you
can yhen remove the Taskbar. But Ctrl+Shift+Esc would still work to access the
Task Manager. But that can be disabled, too.

I’m working on a Windows 8.1 build for a web-browsing kiosk type of machine. I

Start screen.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks
Mike
