We've done both Win7 and 8.1 OK with that model. We are using UEFI for both. Out of curiosity, in the BIOS under Performance, Rapid Start Technology. Is that enabled or disabled? It says it's installing drivers, goes through the rest, but just comes up with a black screen at the end. Very frustrating! I've tried two different driver packages (including the most recent). It appears to image fine, but when you log in, it takes FOREVER going through the preparing apps, almost ready, etc. screen, then eventually it goes to a lock screen. When you try to log in again, you get a black screen with a cursor. Googling says this might be a display driver issue. I disabled all the display drivers, still having problems. I can't even get into safe mode. I've tried different driver cabs, currently using the 8/28 release from Dell's site. Anyone else have issues with this model?
