this will be sad. Dell is usually awesome about not making management a headache. That's why I won't work anywhere that doesn't use Dell.
From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Miller, Todd Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2014 3:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MDT-OSD] Dell changing model names? heads up... I think Dell might be adjusting their model names. I had a new precision a few weeks ago with the model name Precision T5810. Today I received one with the model name 'Precision Tower 5810'. This sort of change will require reworking of any task sequences you might have that detect model name and then apply an appropriate driver pack for that model or update BIOS or anything else you have based on WMI filters for Model name. I hope this doesn't turn into a fiasco. Does anyone here know what is going on? ________________________________ Notice: This UI Health Care e-mail (including attachments) is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. 2510-2521, is confidential and may be legally privileged.
