Yes maybe the ranking system could be the root cause, will check this out. We’re always using the “total control system” when dealings with drivers. And yes, the drivers are copied over the media with a custom Selection Profile. Chris literally checked the folder size to check it out :^)

If there is more than one match for the device, Windows will use a ranking system to determine which driver to use https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff549553(v=vs.85).aspx . Again, if you are having problems with a specific device, get the PnPID of the device when going through the SetupAPI.*.log files. However I suspect that in this case your MDT or OSD packages (are you using the total control system) are not configured to copy the HP Supplied drivers from the offline media, perhaps because they are not in the offline media. IF so check your Selection Profile. Easy way to check to see if your drivers are getting copied down is to search for all lines with “xcopy” in the bdd.log file. Those lines are the ones that actually copy drivers from the MDT Deployment Shares to the local hard disk for installation. So with PXE deployment ==> Everything is installed, with drivers supplied by HP et “correctly” added in the workbench (DriversGroups) With Offline media without @ connectivity ==> everything is installed with default supplied Windows drivers (MSFT Whql) This behavior is puzzling to say the least Cordialement, Mathieu Leroy Consultant T : +33 3 28 02 53 57 ― M : +33 6 21 63 74 15 ― F : +33 3 28 02 53 06 24 rue Papin - BP 50488 - 59664 Villeneuve d'Ascq Cedex email : [email protected]― web : www.osiatis.com<http://www.osiatis.com/> [http://m.c.lnkd.licdn.com/media/p/5/005/03c/191/1260f51.png][Description : Description : Description : cid:[email protected]] De : [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] De la part de Keith Garner (Hotmail) Envoyé : mardi 10 février 2015 19:56 À : [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Objet : RE: [MDT-OSD] Standalone Media drivers not installed properly You can’t just go into the setupapi log files without a game plan. You need to start with the device in question. Go into the Device Manager (Devmgmt.msc) find the device that is missing (Yellow Bang <!>) and grab the Plug and Play ID from the properties. Otherwise it’s a matter of digging into the c:\windows\inf\setupapi.*.log files to find the real story. ☹ From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chris DESCAMPS Sent: Monday, February 9, 2015 9:04 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: [MDT-OSD] Standalone Media drivers not installed properly Hi guys, I've recently made a couple of MDT masters and got a problem with the Standalone Media. With a network deployment there is no issues, all drivers, applications, etc are included. When i deploy with the MDT Standalone media some drivers (or all of them) are not installed on the computer. They're present in the media, i can see in the ZTIDrivers.log that they're copied on the computer but they're not installed. Does anyone experienced the same issue with these Media? Thanks, Chris.
