The Various Fund Raising Events in 250th Anniversary of Puro Mangkunegaran

In this precious momentum of 250 Anniversary of Puro Mangkunegaran: A
Reviving Moment, The great family of Puro Mangkunegaran, consisting of Friends
of Mangkunegaran Court (YPPM), Soeryosumirat Foundation, and the Society of
Mangkunegaran Soeryosumirat Relatives will organize some fund raising events of
various art and culture activities, for the purpose of Puro Mangkunegarans
Restoration.
Started with the Bedhaya Mataram Senopaten Dirodo Meto Dance Performance and
The Salatiga Treaty Selebration Feast (March 16- 17, 2007) and continued with
Javanese Traditional Chant (Macapat) Competition (June 3rd, 2007), there will
be many more art & culture, and historical activities arranged until the coming
November 2007 by the committee of the 250th Anniversary of Puto Mangkunegaran,

Program: Celebrations on the Anniversary of Soeryosumirat Dance Group & 140th
Anniversary of Mangkunegaran Royal Library, Rekso Pustoko

the Founding of Puro Mangkunegaran

Program: Book Launching 250 years of Puro Mangkunegaran
The peak of this celebration will be in 9 & 10 November, 2007, where the
Royal Mangkunegaran Guards/Army will parade through the main streets of Solo,
accompanied by marching bands in their Mangkunegaran traditional costume
In this full-day boisterousness, every vendor of traditional goods, from arts
to culinary, from large stores to street kiosks, will display their goods at
the venue or the Mangkunegaran main field (alun- alun). In short, its all
about Ancient Solo!!
Activity for the next day will be a fashion show of Mangkunegarans unique
traditional Javanese fashion collection, from the oldest era to the
contemporary. This will be followed by a luncheon with unique cuisines from the
Mangkunegaran Kitchen, accompanied by Keroncong music performance. The grand
performance of the colossal dance, the Struggle of Mataram People and the
Founding of Puro Mangkunegaran will also be performed on this day.
This grand performance will involve 250 300 professional dancers,
consisting various ethnics and nationalities such as Dutchmen, Chinese
descendants, Balinese, Javanese and other ethnicities. There also will be some
mounted troops on horses and elephants, and a parade of the great royal
families and inner circle (Sentono Dalem) of Puro Mangkunegaran
This whole event is organized by the synergy of the Friends of Mangkunegaran
Court (YPPM), Soeryosumirat Foundation, Society of the Mangkunegaran
Soeryosumirat Relatives, and Idekami Communication, supported by PT HM
Sampoerna Tbk unther the program of Sampoerna Untuk Indonesia which share the
common vision in improving public appreciation towards national arts and
cultures, the traditional Javanese music art in particular.
