At the request of some users, I have created 7 new mailing lists to further break down the segments of "Medianews" that are posted to the Medianews mailing list on TWIAR.org.
This is currently experimental and will be run for about 1 month before deciding whether to take it down or to keep it going. The purpose of these lists is to break down specific categories of news that people have requested be made into their own lists. It is recommended that you remain subscribed to the Medianews list as well as try out some of the new ones. And before it is asked, NO, Medianews and will NOT be going away! These mailing lists are provided as an alternative to medianews as well as a more focused means of getting the news that you would like to be informed about. Some items may be posted on these individual lists that you might not otherwise read about on Medianews. Cross posting from one list to another is possible and acceptible as long as they remain on-topic. These may become high-traffic mailing lists, so please use email addresses that can handle large capacities of email. Please help spread the word about TWIAR.org's new mailing lists and re-post the following information on your message board, mailing list, web site, or other online medium. The new lists are as follows: Movienews - This mailing list is for posting of articles and links to articles for news regarding movies and actors/actresses in the movie industry. The current lists we have running are: Medianews - This mailing list is dedicated to a wide-range of news including (but not limited to) Radio, Television, Music, Movies, Science, Technology, Current Events, and the oddities. This is a high-traffic mailing list and several dozen email message are passed through this list daily. Subscribe by sending a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and then reply to the confirmation email. Wildfeeds - Thismailing list is dedicated to the reception of "Wildfeed" signals broadcast on satellite television that can be received on the larger "C-band" style dishes or may be picked up by other satellite feeds depending on their origin. The list is often a high-traffic list posting the locations and times of the feeds (sporting events, breaking news, satellite launches, press conference, etc.). Subscribe by sending a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and then reply to the confirmation email. TWIAR - News regarding the program This Week in Amateur Radio, the program for which TWIAR derives it's name. Posting may include news articles for the program as well as announcements on when the next program is available for download, or updates to the program schedule. Subscribe by sending a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and then reply to the confirmation email. Also, use email addresses you can directly post from. Redirected email addresses often cause confusion and users attempting to post from an email address they receive redirects from will bounce as a non-subscribed user. For example, if you redirect email, sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and the xyz.com address is subscribed, you will not be able to post unless you are able to send mail from xyz.com. Therefore, it is best to subscribe from your direct email address in case you would like to post an item to the list. Otherwise, if your only intent is to lurk, then the redirect will be fine. As well as subscribers, I am looking for admins for these new lists. Please send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you are interested. Please include your name, contact email, and the list you would like to oversee. Thanks for your time and participation. Please send me any feedback regarding this at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Greg Williams [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply with a "Thank you" if you liked this post. _____________________________ MEDIANEWS mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
