Have you considered adding the Semantic extensions so that table updates are automatic? Check out http://semantic-mediawiki.org/, in particular the "automatically generated lists" feature described at http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Introduction_to_Semantic_MediaWi ki
