Or you know, you could dig through the mailing lists and IRC logs and
see all the times it's happened. Not saying it's guaranteed to happen,
but it is a likely outcome if the requests are considered abusive.

As Chad mentioned, caching it for reasonable period such as a day or
so would generally be considered nice enough to not warrant actions.
