Subject: Trouble installing new wiki

I am trying to install a new wiki using Mediawiki 1.19. After downloading the
SMW extensions, and setting up the database, I'm going through the install
process through the MW install pages. I click on the Install after selecting
the extensions (and other features), and it seems to hang, never completing the
installation. Where would I start diagnosing the problems?
