There is a great SEO extension for MediaWiki called "community".
It is quite hard to get installed and configured correctly, and even
more likely to interfere with new extensions you will deploy, but its
impact can be unrivalled in the long term. It will not only make your
content better, but also advertise it in real life, and your search
engine ranking will skyrocket.
You can see it in action on the largest Wikipedias.
