I panicked. The Lua error was really scary, but it just involved making one of the files writable. And I missed out on a couple of modules.
It's working now-- I'm still amazed that it is-- I should be more trusting of the process. For anyone else who wants to try it, it works! Below is a list of templates and modules you need: Module:Check for unknown parameters Module:Arguments Template:Yesno-no Module:Tree chart/data Module:Tree chart Template:Tree chart Template:Tree chart/end Template:Tree chart/start Template:Related Template:Chart bottom Template:Chart top Template:Mbox Template:Ombox Template:Template link Template:Para -----Original Message----- From: Bartosz Dziewoński <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2025 2:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MediaWiki-l] Re: Tree Chart On 2025-07-23 02:00, John via MediaWiki-l wrote: > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Tree_chart > > Has anyone had experience with Wikipedia's family tree feature? Are there tutorials? Can you say more about how you downloaded them, and what errors you are getting? I just tried exporting "Template:Tree chart" using https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Export with the 'Include templates' option checked, then imported the XML file I got using Special:Import on my test wiki, and at a glance everything works perfectly, with no tricks needed. -- Bartosz Dziewoński _______________________________________________ MediaWiki-l mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/postorius/lists/mediawiki-l.lists.wikimedia.org/ _______________________________________________ MediaWiki-l mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/postorius/lists/mediawiki-l.lists.wikimedia.org/
