We are pleased to announce the release of [Semantic
MediaWiki](https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org)
[7.2.0](https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Semantic_MediaWiki_7.2.0).
This release fixes six security issues: five cross-site scripting issues in
Special:Ask and Special:SearchByProperty, and an open redirect in
Special:URIResolver. We recommend that all wikis running Semantic MediaWiki
upgrade.
Also new:
* The #set parser function gained a +display option, so you can store a value
and show it in one call: {{#set:Has population=812,405|+display}}
* A new #property_link parser function for linking to a property page from
running text: {{#property_link:Has population|population}}. It provides a
dedicated syntax for what previously required the [[Foo::@@@]] annotation trick.
* Various bug fixes, including restored PostgreSQL support (broken since
7.0.0), PHP 8.5 compatibility fixes, and a memory exhaustion fix for
long-running maintenance scripts on large wikis.
This is a minor release. It contains no breaking changes, and there is no need
to run update.php or any migration scripts. It is compatible with MediaWiki
1.43 up to 1.46 and PHP 8.1 up to 8.5.
