New question #219049 on Medibuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/medibuntu/+question/219049

At this moment, the Opus codec (libopus and opus-tools) is included with
Quantal and above, but there is a version of the codec available at
https://launchpad.net/~n-muench/+archive/vlc which can be downloaded and
included with Medibuntu. I ask this because the Ubuntu team refuses to add new
packages to Precise, and with Precise being supported for 5 years, then this
important codec needs to get out there.

Plus, VLC 2.0.4 and above are advertised to use this codec and offering
something the main repositories don't offer so VLC and other audio programs can
use would be a plus.
