Is is possible to configure a lab t-type test to accept only a date as input? We are temporarily entering results generated by nursery users and it could be a day or more before we get around to entering their i-stat results for them. Therefore I have included a t-type test in the profile that is for "date testing performed" and I want the entering user to only be able to enter a valid date (or at least possibly via a calculation have the displayed output of the test be in a date format). Right now its just a non-numeric t-type test and I've seen them entering stuff like 2/72/06 (obviously accidently inverting the numbers for the day), 2/2006 (who know what thats suppose to mean) and even just 27 (I guess thats suppose to be today). It would be super cool if I could set up a t-type lab test to adhere to the "T" convention of date entry but I guess that would be asking too much. Has anyone ever done anything like this...? TIA for any help/advice. We are magic 5.4 David McAllister, MT(ASCP) Systems Analyst/Programmer Jeff Anderson Reg. Med. Ctr.
