David...... The basic difference is that data entered at the timecard level is what you might pull to report. For example, you might want to pull data for secondary department earnings that are entered at the TC level, you may want to report on shift earnings entered at the timecard level, you may want to report on overtime by shift entered at the timecard level. TC level detail is what you would report on with the segment pp.time.card.earnings.input. Whereas more globally timecard data would be reported using pp.time.card. earnings segment.
