We did this also an noted a problem with RAD losing transcription
They would be typing and a message would appear

The radiology transcriptions are stating that randomly when they file an
addendum or a report they are getting the messages "Exiting Will Result
In Deletion Of Addendum Information Entered. Exit Anyway - OK" or the
same message with report instead of Addendum. They are stating that it
doesn't matter if they pick "No" they still lose their report/addendum
and have to type it over again. This has happen repeated times to more
than one user.

Yes, just a few weeks ago!
Although, for us, it was typing in RAD.
I got this response below from Jay Gilmore at Crisp Regional. This fixed
our problem!
Thanks

We are MAGIC 5.4.3, but check the following in OPS:

        --1. System Management -> 20. Enter/Edit TermServers, PCs,
RemoteHosts

--Pull up your VPN devices and check your "Negotiate Remote
Read?"
parameter. If it is "Y", it needs to be changed to "N".

We had the same problems with a remote transcriptionist
connecting via VPN.
Our radiology consultant told us to do this, and when we did,
our remote transcriptionist noticed a big difference in the typing.
This solved our problem. I hope this solves your problem as well!

        Thanks,

Hello everyone. We are a Magic 5.4 site and have been using DPT for our
health record transcription since October. We are currently in the
process of trying to set up our transcriptionists so they can work from
home. They will come in to a VPN connection via their high speed
internet connection at home. We've had reports that when they are typing
in DPT (they type directly in DPT * don't use the rich text editor) ,
there is a noticeable delay *they are typing ahead of the screen
display. This also means that when they backspace out a word, the cursor
often ends up deleting letters in the previous word. This wouldn't be
such a problem for an average speed typist, but for the
transcriptionists it is. There is no delay at all when they work on
site.

Has anyone else ever experienced this type of thing? I don't know that
it's limited to DPT * one of our network techs said that when he's in
Meditech from home the response can be a bit jerky.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Nancy
