======================================

Our ~60 bed Magic 5.4 SR3 hospital began POE in about 1999, shortly after we
were Live with Meditech. We brought up POM in late 2004. We are just POM, not
PCM. We have had about 7 doctors who have steadily used POE and now POM since
it went Live, a tenth or less of our total number of physicians. Our
physicians are all private practice.

Our obstacles to more widespread use of the system have been varied. After
working with physicians as a nurse and now clinical analyst for twenty years, I
find they are not likely to adopt POM out of an understanding that it is best
for the patient and institution as a whole. POM must very directly save them
time or money. For example, I have had physicians come to me for POM training
when they thought POM could help them edit their charges or when they saw the
use of the 'Transfer' button which saves an MD the time of hand-compiling
transfer orders.

Our institution has not been comfortable requiring POM use of new doctors
although we do require esigning of medical records for any new doctors. There
has been a great deal of turnover in those who train and recruit the doctors to
POM over the past few years making it difficult to maintain enthusiasm for POM.
Our nurses use OM for order entry and do really like it. I am glad we have
the system in place even if it is minimally used at this point. I built much
of our POM module and am open to talking about it with any interested.

I'm looking for feedback of other MEDITECH Magic sites who have already
implemented and are LIVE with the Physician Care Manager (PCM) suite or
at least the Physician Order Management (POM) module. If you have, could
you please respond to the following:

(1) Are you LIVE on PCM or just POM? When did you go LIVE?

(2) If you have implemented and are LIVE with PCM, what all modules
within PCM are you LIVE on (POM, Clinical Review, Physician Desktop,
etc.)?

(3) Regarding physician order entry component, how many current
physicians do you have fully utilizing POM and entering all orders
through POM? What percentage of your medical staff does this represent?

(4) Are your physicians employed by your facility or are they private
practice physicians?

(5) To date, what have been your biggest obstacles, objections, and/or
roadblocks in getting widespread physician acceptance and utilization of
POM?

(6) Would you be willing to have a conference call to share ideas??

I thank you in advance for your feedback!
