We also have Datamax I series printers and do our own armbands through NPR. We have been using Hollister armbands which they said would never wear off.....it wears off after about 2 showers for the patient. We have not had any problems with feeding or print heads. We started this about 6 months ago. ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of Roemer Donna, Information Systems Sent: Thu 3/23/2006 9:44 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MEDITECH-L] C/S Admissions Armbands All messages should be posted in plain text. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== Hi, We have been producing armbands via the Admissions registration process for about 1.5 years now using a custom NPR report containing printer codes to format/rotate text and print a bar code for the visit number. We are using a Datamax I-4308 printer and we have gone through numerous print heads. We also have had at least one printer's feed mechanism seem to go bad on us. Datamax has recommended turning the heat setting down, since it apparently was not designed to use the highest heat setting. Now, our techs are being told the printer was not designed to handle "shiny, textured" stock and that is probably our problem. I was wondering if anyone else is using a similar setup and what type of printer and/or stock you're using. I'm also interested in what other solutions some of you may be using if they are different from what we're doing. Thanks!
