======================================

The cancellation request prints in Lab, but usually the patient has already been stuck before the notification filters down to the phlebotomist.

Positive patient identification and the cessation of unnecessary sticks are the two major reasons why we will be getting phlebotomy handhelds this year.  We have decided on Care Fusion CareCollect.

Good luck, Brenda

How do other labs handle test orders that are cancelled from OE but the specimen's are already in a collection batch and labels printed?  How is phlebotomy notified of the cancellation before they try and collect the specimens?  We are having issues with unnecessary draws.  TIA.
