We're 5.4SR2 C/S and there is an MIS parameter in the Location dictionary under the Order entry section that allows you to set by site a Return from Temp Location after_______minutes. We recently changed our MIS user dictionary page 3 for most inpatient nursing staff to restrict by location of the machine. This has also presented a problem for transfers to the ICU following a code or change in condition. I have been tasked with finding out if there is any workaround for documentation after a patient has transferred to another location. Currently, the nurse from the prior unit has to go to ICU to document on the patient once they have transferred over to ICU. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. We have no intentions of changing the MIS dictionary setup back to not restricting by location. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had to deal with this issue and if you have anything in place that might help. Thanks. Mark H.
