Hi,

I still have a question, What if there are 5 different remit codes on
the claim? Do you create a separate Batch entry for each one?

At our facility, if the remit is electronic, the batch posts any remit
code on the claim from the 835 that is listed in the dictionary. For
some payers we have all remit codes built, for others we have "maps".

If the remit is posted manually, we only have specific codes that our
posters use; however, if there is more than one code that needs to be
posted, our analysts will post two individual transactions (one payment,
one adjustment) each with a remit code.

The goal for us is to process the files electronically so that all the
codes can post. The other nice feature of electronic postings is that
if you pull them in electronically you can run reports from the raw file
(even if you are not posting the codes). We have numerous reports that
we run based off the raw file (for example, a code summary report for
each remit that will give us a high level overview of CAS Codes
contained in the file to look for ones we may not have built).

Hi,

I have a question for you. Do you capture multilple remit codes per
claim, or do you only capture one? The BAR batch only has an entry for
one remit code.

We don't have every single CAS code built in the Remit Code dictionary.
We took the main ones and have added them as needed. Everything that
comes in as a CAS code that matches an entry in the remit code
dictionary is posted on the account.

~~Our site is experiencing some issues with mapping Cas Reason Codes and
