Title: MAGIC: Bridged Accounts
Hello,
Our Abstracting/Billing folks are looking for feedback on how other hospitals handle this situation. Medicare Patient is admitted and has hospital stay. Patient returns the next day as an inpatient unexpectedly. Our folks consider this a "bridged account".
1. Do you move the charges and diags all to the first account and bill under that account only?
2. Do you move only the charges?
3. Do you not move the diags over also?
Any feedback/thoughts would be appreciated!
