Hi Julia-
Let me start off by saying I by no mean intend to show any "negative
campaigning" on the L. I have been involved with MEDITECH for greater than
15 years and I'm now an "independent consultant" working around the country
mainly on the Advanced Clinicals. I am a site admin and co-founder, but not
the creator - that would be Kevin Boldt ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
MeditechTalk.com does have links to both of us for anyone that wants to
contact us directly. As for your mention to my site RPhInformatics.com,
that is a totally separate "project" for me. My intention is to have a
network for Pharmacist regardless of the HCIS they use. Cerner, Eclypsis,
MEDITECH - there is a common thread and workflow that is inherant to all.

My passion is clinical consulting, as is Kevin Boldt's. We have both been
users and members of the L for years and have been talking about this new
web site for some time. There is no charge for the site - the intention is
to provide an alternate...and quite honestly I believe it's an excellent
alternative. Kevin has done an amazing job providing the members and
visitors to MeditechTalk.com and "bulletin board" type of threaded postings,
chat rooms, industry news and more. When you visit MeditechTalk.com, it is
very apparent that Kevin has excellent skills as a website creator. As with
me, Kevin is a full-time clinical consultant and Nurse working around the
country. You will never see any negative campaiging on our site - that I
guarauntee.

If you look back through the L posting you'll see that I have been very
active in both looking for help and providing help in the form of
answers/comments and actual NPR frags. Yesterday I posted a response to a
question about eMAR and didn't mention MeditechTalk.com so I know I'm not
giving the impression that I am "using the L" to get out some underlying
message.

Again, this is our passion. I am hoping to see you that too will see the
value of a site like MeditechTalk.com and that you make frequent visits to
the site as well.

Kevin.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Off-Topic: Meditech Talk?

======================================

I just saw the reference to www.MeditechTalk.com in another message, so
naturally I checked it out.

First, let me make it clear that I'm not affiliated in any way with either
the Meditech-L list or the MeditechTalk web site, so what I have to say is
my opinion and mine alone. I'm also not sending this to the L to start
anything or cause trouble, but the L is our primary tool for communication
and I wanted to share my observations with all of you.

The Meditech-L references on MeditechTalk struck me as negative and
unnecessary. I quote:
"If you were tired of receiving HUNDREDS of emails every day from a certain
List, then this site is for YOU! Instead of searching THOUSANDS of
DISCONNECTED emails and messages, you can search through a neatly organized
website!" In a survey on the Home page, the first two answers to the
question "Why will you join the Meditech Talk community?" are "Cannot find
anything on the L-List" and "My In Box is too full of L-List messages".

I couldn't find any responsible parties' names on the web site, so I don't
know who has created it but it might be a good idea. I don't like the
impression of competition between a web site and a list, though. I don't
like the impression of 'negative campaigning' that these comments give.

Huh. I've still been poking around on the web site and I do see that the
site admin has a web site listed: Website: http://www.RPhInformatics.com.
And . . . the original reference to MeditechTalk came from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] So I guess RPHInformatics is the
creator/owner/operator of MeditechTalk. And . . . RPHInformatics.com is
still "under construction". Curiouser and curiouser. . .

Julia
