Did you know if you have LAB DTS 11422? I had this issue before a few year ago. I have a rule on PT. When the nursing ordered PT and CBC together the night before, CBC got cancelled at midnight run. This DTS fixed it.

Title: Separate Specimen Order Rule for send out test

We don’t have a Medinet interface, so I can’t speak to that.  As I said, we use this in limited circumstances, but we have not encountered any real problems with it.

Rich,

Thanks for the reply.

I asked Meditech about this - they recommend not using this format - they say it causes problems with Medinet interfaces.

Have you heard any thing in regards to this?

Adin

Adin:  Actually, you can have one rule, with multiple lines, like this:

   [f lord lab link test](1,"QUIN"),

   [f lord lab link test](1,"OSMO"),

   [f lord lab link test](1,"UOSM"),

   [f lord lab link test](1,"xPROC"),

   [f lord lab link test](1,"LIDO"),

   [f lord lab link test](2,"INSU"),

   [f lord lab link test](3,"BNP"),

   [f lord lab link test](2,"xPTH-I"),

   [f lord lab link test](2,"SCCM"),

   [f lord lab link test](2,"xSFAST"),

   [f lord lab link test](2,"PTH");

However, we use this for limited circumstances.  Our reference tests have their own prefix, and that automatically generates a separate specimen number.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Separate Specimen Order Rule for send out test

We have been using the following rule on send out tests so they get a separate specimen number - one rule attached to many tests.

[f lord print#]^PNUM,
[f lord lab link test](52,PNUM);

We have a recurring problem with tests getting rejected by the OE/Lab interface - with following error message:  MSG:   ORDER REJECTED No specimen data for LAB: C.

I can reproduce the error if there are two separate requisitions in OE,  requested for same date & time, both with same prefix, and the send out requisition crosses the interface second.  If interface test with order rule crosses first, the rule works.

Meditech says that the variable for the print number has not set up yet when the order reaches lab - so the order rejects.  Their solution is to write individual rules as follows:

[f lord lab link test](53,"MNE");

where MNE is the test mnemonic.

Has anyone else seen this or have another way to write one rule that cover many tests.  We are looking at having to create 180+ rules.
