I haven't looked at this rule, but it may be possible to add a line at the end
of the rule that says - Do you still want to DEBIT? Y/N - if yes it would
continue
if No then it would do noting and you may be able to Exit out. But I would have
to see the rule. Send it to me and I will check it out. Cindy

It sounds like the rule evaluate at FILE, and then yes, it too late to fix
anything. First off I would change the rule to evaluate at MED so at least you
know before you hit F12. But without knowing the exact key strokes your sites
uses to Debit, the rule can also STOP the process if the orders status is DC
or DCD, etc. I call those "show stoppers", but I can think of a couple
scenarios when one might actually want to debit a dc'd med.
Best of luck - Kevin.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] debit a dc'd med
Does anyone have a better mousetrap? Meditech 5.5 allows the debiting of a
discontinued med. I am told that some sites use this functionality. They
created a rule for us that warns the user that they are about to debit a
discontinued med, but the only option the user has is to click OK. This then
debits the med anyway. Meditech says the rule is only to warn the user and
they then have to go back and fix their mistake. There has to be a better way.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks
