All of our students document Vitals, I&O and shift & focused assessments (not admits) All of out students have their own passwords so info can be tracked appropriately. It is a lot of work... BUT, in a paper world, everyone signs their own documentation with their own name and credentials. Our instructors do the training, at their site or ours. We have a generic intervention the instructor uses to "co-sign" the students NUR documentation. We are struggling with planning for students and eMAR. The nurse practice act here in MD does not specify that the students' administration of medications needs to be co-signed. We just had our first meeting with the instructors to demo the process and start the discussion on how we are going to provide the students with the practice of administering meds.. Meditech's "co-sign" feature within the MAR access is very rigid.. and would be obstructive for the senior student. The instructors were quite adamant that the students would NOT chart under THEIR name. We are concerned about providing a learning environment for the students.. keeping meds on patients, keeping packets of actual meds and arm bands.... the logistics are daunting! The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== Hi, I need some information about how students are set up in the Meditech system. We are LIVE with BMV/ eMAR and we currently set up the Instructor, train him/her and the student documents med administration under that password. It has worked well. In July we are going LIVR with NUR Documentation and are wondering how you all set up your students. If we give them each a sign on and password, that would be a lot of setting up and deactivating users. If we set up only instructors, we cannot connect a student's name to the documentation. Can anyone share with us what you are doing with this. I appreciate any information that you could offer. Thanks, Patti Lawing Rutherford Hospital Inc. _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l
