Paul, We were making the same sort of changes in preparation for our EDM implementation which incorporates EMAR, but we are now undoing most of these changes. There is a enhancement with the 5.5 update that adds a new CDP entry called "Charting unit for 0 dose and compound". What it does is allow the administration form for the EMAR to be defined at the time of order entry. When you put 0 in the dose field, you get the dose instructions pop-up box, but there is an additional field in the pop-up box called Charting Unit. In this field you can do a lookup into the Med Form dictionary and define any medication form for documenting. This unit will default into the "Dose in Units" field on the Full Document screen.
