Well, we're just a little over a week away from the big event. As this year's EDM IPGL I've received a good bit of feed back from folks about topics you would like to discuss in our Peer Group sessions. Some of these topics are as follows: * Chief Complaint Strategies - Pro's and Con's of setting up generalized versus more specific Chief Complaints * Developing Best Practice documentation with EDM * Auto Charging with progression to Auto Coding Strategies (including E&M formula guidelines and use of CMS status indicators in developing your formulas) * Options for using EDM as a tool for Coders * GPA (Graphic Performance Analysis) Set up and functionality * Location/location/location - What's in a name? Correlation between EDM Locations and MIS locations for practical and reporting purposes * Indicators - When is too much, too much? * PIC vs. Custom Discharge Instructions. Pro's and Con's of Standard PIC content * Patient Priority/Severity benefits/practicality of using Severity and defining 9 levels of patient severity for the organization * Report Format. Using the Standard format vs. Patient summary. Pro's and Con's of each * Tips and tricks for developing a custom format with the Patient Summary routine. * RXM Report Writing Tips. Explanation of Allergies and Rx groupings and how to access them via NPR RW * EPS Set up and functionality * Using Attributes with EDM * Migrating to Non provider POM as a first step toward CPOE * Profile versus Historical Meds (5.4) to 5.5 enhancement that combines the two. Custom Reporting Options with each Rx type. We'll cover as many of these topics and more as time allows during our sessions. If you can think of anything else you'd like to talk about, or if you'd like to do a Show & Tell presentation please let me know. As of right now we only have one Show & Tell so any others would be welcome. Thanks.
