I think one of the bigger issues you will have is dealing with the
HIPAA problem of not being able to restrict the physician to his list
of patients. That capability isn't in the status board as it was
built for Nursing. Although in some circumstances it may work if you
have intensivists who care for all the patients in a given unit. We
built a flowsheet for one of our intesivists and he accesses it via
the status board. Because he is unrestricted he is audited regularly.

Our Administration would like us to provide some sort of desktop
for the physicians. I know that in the POM module, there is a
Physician Dashboard that shows their patients, etc. We do not have
POM and I don't forsee us purchasing it for quite a while. I had
thought about the Nursing Status Board and trying to build one for
physicians, but they would have to add their patients, right? We
aren't using the status board yet so I'm a little unsure of how it
works. Anyway, to make a long story longer, what are other people
doing to provide docs with some sort of desktop? Any ideas would
be appreciated.
