I think the key is the hardware - a "Very High Density" (VHD) wand is required.  I have had good success with the Welsh-Allyn product.

Best of luck - Kevin.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] 2D barcodes for BMV

Meditech L:

We are currently implementing BMV in C/S 5.5 SR2.    One of the issues we are running into is 2D barcodes on some packaging from our pharmaceutical suppliers.   We are using Datalogic Gryphon BT200 scanners.   128's and 39's work OK.  We have also tested the scanners on generic 2D barcodes (examples from web sites) with success.   However, we are not able to successfully scan our prepackaged meds that have 2D barcodes.   They appear very condensed and have little whitespace around them.

Does anyone have any experience with 2D barcodes?   We would be interested in any configuration considerations, workarounds, solutions, or suggestions you might have.
